While Chhaava opened to a strong box office collection of ₹31 crore on its first day, audience and critics’ reviews have been mixed.

Vicky Kaushal reveals rejecting Stree

Despite his recent success, Vicky Kaushal admitted to having a few regrets when it comes to rejecting film roles, especially those that turned out to be massive hits. During an appearance on Neha Dhupia’s show, the actor revealed that he was initially approached for 2018’s blockbuster horror-comedy Stree but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts with Manmarziyaan.

When Neha asked whether he regretted missing out on being part of Stree, which later became a major success, Vicky expressed disappointment. The film, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, also featured Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. It not only became a massive hit upon release but also gave birth to a franchise.

With Stree 2 having released last year, the film managed to rake in a whopping ₹858.4 crore worldwide, with an Indian collection of ₹605.8 crore. The franchise continues to grow, with Maddock Films recently announcing that Stree 3 is in the works and is slated for release on August 13, 2027.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal remains focused on Chhaava, which continues to perform at the box office despite mixed feedback. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what the actor takes on next, as he continues to explore diverse roles in his career.
