Vicky Kaushal is all set to essay the role Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming biographical drama Sam Bahadur. The movie is all set to release of 1st December and Vicky has kickstarted the promotions. The actor recently reached Bhavanipur college in Kolkata city to promote the film. Well, he received a roaring welcome and had an amazing time there. The actor also tried speaking a few lines in Bengali.

On 17th November, the actor took to his social media and informed fans that he is jetting to Kolkata. He shared several glimpses from promotions in the city. Well, fans undoubtedly went berserk and were constantly hooting and chanting ‘Sam is here’ as Vicky arrived in the city. Amid fans, the actor mouthed his popular dialogue from the movie and also played song Badhte Chalo. Not only this, the actor also surprised everyone by speaking in Bengali and telling ‘Aami Tomake bhalo bashi (I love you all) to all his fans.
The actor is next heading to Lucknow for promoting his film. Sharing glimpse of the city tour, Vicky wrote on his Instagram stories, “Thank you KOLKATA… you have really been a city of joy! Off to our next city… See you soon. LUCKNOW!!!”

About Sam Bahadur
This biography is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw who was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the biographical drama will also star Fatima Sana Shaikh as prime minister Indira Gandhi, and Sanya Malhotra as Sam’s wife. Meghna recently dropped a video giving glimpse of Vicky’s jaw-dropping transformation.

For the uninitiated, the movie will witness a clash with Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal which is also releasing on 1st December. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
