Victory for Salim – Javed in ‘Zanjeer’ case

Salim-Javed the script writer duo of Zanjeer, dragged the re-makers to court for making the film without their permission. Claiming copyright and demanded compensation.

According to sources, The Bombay High Court had refused to grant an interim stay, but the writers decided to carry on the fight. Salim Khan had refused to give up the fight then, telling a newspaper reporter,”We shall go to the Supreme Court. But before that we will approach the Division Bench.”
But now it seems that an out of court settlement has taken place with the makers paying the writers their dues. Salim said, “A compromise has been reached and Javed and I are very happy.”

It was confirmed by Javed, that a “financial settlement” has been reached, adding that he was elated at the turn around.
