Vidya Balan begins shoot for suspense thriller Neeyat in UK; says expect the unexpected

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has been on a roll for a year now. The actress who recently appeared in Jalsa will next be seen in an Anu Menon suspense thriller titled Neeyat. This is the second collaboration between the versatile actress and the director. The duo had earlier come together for Shakuntala Devi.

The film, an Amazon Prime Video co-production with Abundantia Entertainment, went on floors in the U.K. on Tuesday.

Vidya Balan took to Instagram and shared an update on the film wrote, “Excited to begin shooting one of the most engaging scripts I have read in the recent times, with some of my favourite people – @directormenon & @ivikramix
All I can say is expect the unexpected ? #Neeyat, Filming Begins! ?”

The official logline of the film reads, “When guests start dropping dead at exiled billionaire Ashish Kapoor’s birthday getaway, detective Mira Rao must unravel devious motives as the suspects are Kapoor’s close friends and family.”

Neeyat marks the fourth consecutive collaboration of Balan, Abundantia Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video. The trio have earlier collaborated on Shakuntala Devi, Sherni and most recently Jalsa. It is directed by Anu Menon, who has also co-written the story with Advaita Kala and Girvani Dhyani. The screenplay is by Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Kala and Dhyani, and the dialogues are by Kausar Munir.

Neeyat also features Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Prajakta Koli and Danesh Razvi among others.
