Last month, there were reports of Vidya Balan making her debut as a host for a radio chat show. Though the actress has still not confirmed anything about the project, some interesting details about the show has been revealed.
Staying true to the kind of roles she has played on screen and the kind of strong-headed woman she is in real life, Vidya will be providing a platform to oppressed women and even offer them legal solutions. A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “The idea is to encourage female callers to share incidents of domestic violence and marital abuse. Vidya will offer legal solutions to their problems. She will be accompanied by famous lawyer and social activist Abha Singh.”
Reportedly, the ‘Begum Jaan’ actress will start recording for the show as soon as it is scheduled to air from March onwards. Tentatively titled ‘With Vidya Balan Dhun Badal Ke Toh Dekho’ that will air on Big FM 92.7 radio, the actress will extend the show’s episodes based on the kind of response it receives from the listeners.
Interestingly, Vidya has played a radio host in two of her films – ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ and ‘Tumhari Sulu’. So it would be nice to see her play one in real life as well.
