Vijay Deverakonda breaks silence on ED questioning him over Liger funding: With great popularity comes challenges

Vijay Deverakonda made his Bollywood debut with Puri Jagannadh’s Liger. Vijay starred opposite Ananya Panday in the film. Liger tanked at the box office. The film has been in the news for some reasons. On Wednesday, Liger star Vijay Deverakonda was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over the funding of the film. He was reportedly questioned for 12 hours.

After the questioning, Vijay spoke to the reporters and said he went and met the officials because it was his duty. The actor said, “With great popularity comes challenges and there’s nothing you can do about it. But I see this as an experience. I did my duty when they called. I went and answered their questions.”

For the uninitiated, a few days ago, filmmaker Puri Jagannadh and producer Charmee Kaur were also questioned over alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) of 1999. Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Vijay to know about the identity of the financiers.

Earlier this month, Vijay attended an event as a chief guest and opened up about coming back after Liger failure. In his speech, Vijay said that fans ask him to make a comeback but he’s right here. At the event, Vijay said, “Wherever I go, fans keep saying, anna, you have to give a comeback. I wanted to tell you, I didn’t go anywhere.”

Vijay is one of the popular actors in the industry. He made his debut with Nuvvila and then there was no looking back for him. The actor has starred in films like Yevade Subramanyam, Arjun Reddy, Geetha Govindam, and Mahanati among others.
