Vijay Deverakonda REACTS to rumours of Liger being a remake of Ravi Teja starrer Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi

Vijay Deverakonda is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Liger. Vijay will be sharing screen space with Ananya Panday in the same. The actors are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. In Liger, Vijay plays the role of a boxer, and Ananya will be seen as his love interest. Liger is directed by Puri Jagannadh.

The trailer received a great response. Since the trailer release, there have been rumours that Liger is a remake of Ravi Teja starrer Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi was released in 2003 and also starred Asin. In a recent event, Vijay was asked about the rumours and he clarified that Liger is not a remake.

As reported by Mirchi9.com, during a recent media interaction, Vijay said, “First of all, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi is one of my favourite films. If at all it had to be remade, everything should fall into place in perfection. But I can assure you that I’m not the guy who would do remakes. I wouldn’t do anything even remotely close to a remake.”

Liger also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy and Makarand Deshpande. Liger is slated to release on 25^th August. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Vijay and Ananya recently promoted Liger in Punjab. Vijay shared a bunch of pictures with his co-star and captioned, “When in Punjab (heart emojis) #Liger.”

Apart from Liger, Ananya has interesting projects in the pipeline. The actress will be seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Adarsh Gourav and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
