Vijay Sethupathi charges a WHOPPING amount to be part of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan- Report

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has been making headlines ever since it was announced. Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of an antagonist in the film. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover. According to the latest report, Vijay has charged a whopping amount to be a part of Atlee’s directorial film. He hiked his fees post the success of Vikram.

Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “This is the maximum that Sethupathi has charged for a feature film till date and the hike in fees has come post the tremendous appreciation he got for his performance in Vikram. While he was in talks for Jawan for a while now, the paperwork happened post the thunderous success of Vikram. He has upped his fees from Rs 15 crore to Rs 21 crore for Jawan.”

The report further added that Vijay had to leave two films to be a part of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. ‘The character is so powerful that he didn’t mind letting go off other projects. Atlee has churned out a role that got Vijay very excited,” the source added.

The report further adds that Shah Rukh Khan got Vijay Sethupathi on board without any discussion on remuneration. The source added, “Shah Rukh Khan is someone who respects talents and feels that every actor deserves to be paid handsomely. Vijay is one of the most credible actors of Indian cinema, and he didn’t want to put anyone in an awkward scenario by asking for some sort of discount. In fact, he told one of his associates of how Vijay is kind enough to do the film and by reworking on his dates.”

Reportedly, Deepika Padukone will make a cameo in the film. Jawan is slated to release in June next year.
