In the movie Super Deluxe, Vijay Sethupathi essayed the role of a transgender woman. The movie was released in 2019 and the actor also received a National Award for the best supporting actor. At an event held by Bollywood Hungama, Vijay Sethupathi expressed that he was heartbroken when Super Deluxe couldn’t make its way to the Oscars.
Speaking about the same, the actor said, “I was shattered, but it’s politics. We know that something happened. It’s not because I was in that film. Even if I were not in that film, I would’ve wanted that film to go there. Something happened in between and I don’t want to talk about that. It’s unnecessary.”
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming movie Merry Christmas. The actor is sharing the screen for the first time with Katrina Kaif. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Merry Christmas is slated for a theatrical release on 12th January, 2024.
