Vijay Varma and girlfriend Tamannaah Bhatia have been hitting the headlines for a long time with their relationship. The couple fell in love on a film set and have a full filmy love story as well. For a long time, we have seen actors preferring to not talk about their romance or choose the ‘we are just friends’ way out. But Vijay and Tamannaah didn’t do that. While they stayed mum for a long time on the relationship, eventually they both admitted to it. And since then, they have been doling out couple goals. Recently, in an interview with Hindustan Times, when Vijay was asked why did the couple decide to go public, he gave the most filmy answer. He quipped, “I love the song ‘Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’ from Mughal-e-Azam.”

Vijay and Tamannaah went public in June with their relationship when the actress defined her beau as her ‘happy place’. They fell in love while working on the sets of Lust Stories 2. The rumours of them dating started when a picture of them went viral from a New Year Party. Post that, they were spotted together multiple times. Recently, the couple returned from a romantic vacation in The Maldives.

Vijay on the pressure of expectations

Vijay has given consistently acclaimed performances be it in Gully Boy, Darlings or the most recent Dahaad. From playing intense characters to having gray shades, the actor pulls off any kind of role effortlessly. When asked if he feels the pressure of expectations in maintaining that acclaim, he had the most humble answer.

The actor said, “I realised that people expect me to do good every time I come on screen now.. and that can be a bit daunting. But knowing who I am, I don’t think I can do anything without full conviction. I’ve seen enough failures to not be lured by the idea of ever lasting success. That’s my brand value.”

Vijay has been working consistently well and is in a brilliant phase in his career. Up next, he will be seen alongside Kareena Kapoor and Jaideep Ahlawat in Jaane Jaan. The film streams on Netflix from September 21, 2023.
