Vikram Bhatt recalls Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu fighting while shooting a song for Raaz; says, “She was crying & he was unhappy”

Vikram Bhatt directed Raaz starring Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu was one of the highest-grossing movies of 2002. The actors were a power couple at that time but unfortunately, things turned ugly after their breakup. In a recent interview, Vikram Bhatt reveals how Dino and Bipasha’s breakup affected shoot of a marriage sequence of Raaz.

During a recent interview with News 18 Showsha, Vikram opened up about Bipasha and Dino’s fight during a song’s shoot. He told, “I remember a tragicom situation where we were shooting for their wedding song, ‘Main Agar Saamne’. There’s this line in the song – Apni shaadi ke din abb nahi door hai (our wedding date isn’t far) – and it was during this scene that they were both fighting. I remember Bipasha crying and Dino unhappy.”

He further added, “I told them said, ‘Guys, you can’t fight! We’re shooting a shaadi ka song. Why don’t you suspend the ceasefire for two days?’ And then we had lunch together. But yes, their relationship was falling apart. I’m not the kind of person who goes into the personal lives of his actors. So, I don’t know what had transpired. Soon after Raaz, it completely fell apart,” he says.

On Lisa Ray being the first choice for Raaz

Additionally, Vikram also revealed that Lisa Ray was the first choice for the role of Sanjana Dhanraj in Raaz. However, she had to opt out of the film due to personal reasons. Bipasha Basu was later cast in the role after Dino recommended her for the film. Vikram shared, “At that time, Bipasha and Dino were dating. He said to me, ‘Why don’t you meet Bipasha? She might be good for the film’. Back then, she was also doing a film called Ajnabee with Abbas-Mustan and it was written by a senior colleague of mine, Robin Bhatt. I called him up and asked him about her and he told me that she’s really good. I narrated the script of Raaz to her and she came on board.”

Currently, Bipasha is happily married to actor Karan Singh Grover and they have a daughter named Devi.
