Vikrant Massey left everyone in shock after he announced retirement in wee hours of Monday. The decision took internet by storm as the actor has been in news for back-back-back successes of his projects. In an interview, Vikrant clarified that he is simply taking a ‘break’ because he is ‘burned out’. The actor also claims his statement has been misunderstood and revealed the truth behind his break.
Vikrant Massey issues clarification on retiring from acting
In an exclusive statement to News18, the actor clarified, “I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health are also acting up… People misread it [the social media post]”. He also told in a statement, “Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quiting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right.”

Vikrant Massey took to Instagram and announced his retirement. The actor wrote, “Hello, The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. On the work front, Vikrant is working on two films – Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. As per reports, Shanaya Kapoor will make her Bollywood debut with him in the latter film. The flicks will release in 2025. Talking about this year, the actor was seen in projects like Sector 36, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba and The Sabarmati Report.
