Vikrant Massey to play a villain in Rajkumar Hirani’s next
Now, rumours of Massey taking on a villainous role have surfaced, sparking chatter on social media about his earlier announcement of stepping away from acting.
According to a report by PeepingMoon, Vikrant Massey declined a heroic role in Rajkumar Hirani’s debut web series, tentatively titled Pritam Pedro. Instead, he opted for a villainous character due to scheduling flexibility. The report revealed, “Tentatively titled Pritam Pedro, the show will now star Rajkumar Hirani’s son Vir Hirani and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles. Vir takes on the role initially intended for Vikrant—a young, tech-savvy police officer, while Arshad Warsi will play Pedro, an experienced cop who relies on traditional investigative methods.”
The series is a significant milestone for Rajkumar Hirani, as it marks his son Vir’s debut in the film industry and reunites him with Arshad Warsi nearly 19 years after their Munna Bhai franchise. Adding further intrigue, the project involves a talented team, including National Award-winning filmmaker Avinash Arun, known for directing Paatal Lok, and ad filmmaker Amit Satyaveer Singh as co-directors. The series, being produced for Disney+ Hotstar, is currently being filmed in Mumbai and is expected to wrap production by March 2025.
