Vir Das to pen stories for American Television Network

Its a new high for Vir Das, as the actor recently announced his association with the international artiste management agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which is based out of Los Angeles, USA. In fact this makes Vir the first Indian comedian ever to be signed by this global artist management giant who manages names including the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Billy Crystal, Jon Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, John Cleese and Whitney Cummings.

Vir Das is now set to take a world tour with a new show marking this as his first gig in association with the globally reputed agency. The agency has previously been responsible for world tours for everyone from the Foo Fighters to Russel Peters. Vir is believed to be the first Indian comedians to be doing a tour like this at such a large scale.

Vir is also the first Indian talent to be managed by CAA in the comedy genre apart from Priyanka Chopra in the acting genre and is in talks with major television networks for acting deals this season.

Right now we are looking at a map and deciding which countries and cities we want to target. It’s good to be on a list with your idols and to tour and represent Indian comedy on this kind of scale.
