Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli have topped the list once again as the most valuable celebrity in India. This was revealed as per the fourth edition of India’s Most Powerful Celebrity Brands report, released on Thursday by consulting firm Duff and Phelps, the global valuation and corporate finance advisors.
Presently valued at USD 170.9 million, Kohli has finished above Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone in the list. This is the fourth time ever that Duff & Phelps released the list of India’s most valuable celebrity brands.
Duff & Phelps managing director Aviral Jain said, “While Bollywood celebrities dominate the rankings of the top 20 celebrities, sportspersons provide tough competition. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and PV Sindhu collectively contributed almost USD 241 million, which is over 27 per cent of the cumulative brand value of the top 20 celebrities pegged at USD 877 million.”
Kohli presently endorses a total of 24 brands across several categories. Virat is followed by Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone whose brand value is worth $102.5 million. By the end of November 2018, Deepika too had endorsed around 21 brands.
Akshay Kumar stands third in the list followed by Ranveer Singh in the fourth position. Shah Rukh Khan has slid down to the fifth position, Salman Khan is at sixth and megastar Amitabh Bachchan at seventh position. Whereas Alia Bhatt ranks eighth on the list with Varun Dhawan at ninth and Hrithik Roshan at the tenth position.
