Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Laxmii’ released on November 9 and it has received mixed reviews from the critics. Apart from Akshay’s applaud worthy performance, the music of the film has also become quite a rage especially the song ‘BamBholle’ which sung by singer Viruss aka Devansh Sharma.
‘BamBholle’ is Devansh’s first Bollywood song and he is super excited to get all the love and support from Akshay Kumar and his fans. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, talking about the song, Viruss shared, “Basically we did this song back in 2017, it was an audio lyrical video ACME MUZIC’s YouTube channel. The song went viral on TikTok and there were about 2 million videos on TikTok and it had more than 350 million views on YouTube before entering into Bollywood. Akshay sir himself heard the song before (the original version) and then the makers of ‘Laxmii’ also loved it.”
Akshay’s ‘BamBholle’ has got more than 40+ million views on YouTube and when we asked Viruss what is the best compliment he has got so far, he revealed, “The best compliment came from Akshay sir himself. When we were on the set shooting, at that time he said when I heard the original version and I wanted this kind of energy. After the release, Gippy Garewal also called and said he just loved it.”
Before ‘Laxmii’, Viruss has been working on independent music. Speaking to us he also opened up about how independent music is different from making music for Bollywood films. “There is a lot of difference, but if you talk about this song especially, it was something different. So we did it as a single and then it was represented by Akshay sir in the movie, people love the original version as well. For me, there is not much difference but yes when it comes to properly working for Bollywood music there is a big difference because when you make a single you have to make the song registered to everybody. It happens that people don’t come across your song, but with Bollywood, it’s much easier for the artist to get recognized,” he said.
‘BamBholle’ is a revamped version of Viruss’ 2017 hit, the remix culture is on its all-time high currently. Talking about it Viruss said he doesn’t mind a good remix. “I won’t say that remix should not be made but, the thing is that when you are doing a remix, it should sound better than the original only then it should be created. I have heard a lot of remixes and one song that I remember people loved was ‘Ankh Maare’ (Simmba). So whenever you try to create a remake at least try to make it better than the original, “ shares the singer.
Talking about piracy hampering the growth of independent music, Viruss said, “Yes there is piracy, but it’s not like that; because if you talk about the Punjabi independent music, then I think it’s worldwide and when you talk about the Hindi independent music, then I think people love to listen to more of Bollywood songs than the independent music. Both the things are different and Punjabi independent music has a big scene than the Hindi one.”
Meanwhile, talking about ‘Laxmii’ the movie also stars Kiara Advani and it released on November 9 on Disney+Hotstar.
