Vishal Bhardwaj opens up about Haider 2
Speaking with Hindustan Times, Vishal Bhardwaj opened up about the rumors of Haider 2. The filmmaker said that there are no plans to make a sequel to the Shahid Kapoor starrer Haider. He added that the fresh new hairdo of Shahid Kapoor should not be understood as a hint of creating a sequel. Vishal said, “Shahid ne Baal kata liye, iska yeh matlab thodi Haider 2 ho jayegi (Shahid got a haircut does not mean Haider 2 is happening) Making a sequel doesn’t make sense because the situation in Kashmir has changed.”
He added, “I’m glad that people still remember the first part of Haider. However, since Haider was closely tied to Kashmir, and I don’t have a new story to tell about Kashmir at the moment, making Haider 2 doesn’t seem necessary right now.”
Recently, Vishal Bhardwaj directed a spy thriller movie called Khufiya. Released on 5th October, the movie starred Tabu, Ali Fazal and Ashish Vidyarthi. The movie began streaming on the OTT platform Netflix and it is based on a popular novel Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan.
