Vivek Agnihotri dedicated 5 years in creating The Kashmir Files Unreported, says ‘wanted to showcase it in raw form’

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files was released last year and was appreciated among the audience. The film revolved around Kashmir genocide and the director received praises for bringing out the harsh reality. Now, Vivek Agnihotri is all set to release a sequel to the same. Another chapter titled The Kashmir Files Unreported will release in a web-series format and not a film.

The director and Pallavi Joshi are all set to release web-series soon. The two visited the Dal lake as a part of the web-series promotions and also met the loving Kashmiri people as they soaked in the sightings.

Vivek Agnihotri opens up about The Kashmir Files Unreported

Vivek Agnihotri expressed his thoughts on the series and said, “Kashmir Files Unreported is like a valuable, important and priceless national archive presented by ZEE5. We started researching in 2018 and it took us 5 years of extensive research to gather our thoughts and necessary data to create the series. With experts, journalists and victims we have tried to showcase it in the most sensitive, authentic and sincere way possible.”

He further added, ” While shooting for The Kashmir Files Unreported the only question I kept asking myself – Is it honest, sincere, right, okay? I wanted to show everything in its raw form and I hope I have given justice to it. Many broken Kashmiri pandit families wrote emails to me saying that the film started their healing process after 32 years. That was very satisfying to hear. Through the series, people will come to know who were the perpetrators of terrorism and I am sure it will impact the younger generation too”

Vivek Agnihotri-directed web-series will explore the untold truth from the ones who have witnessed it themselves. The creation of this web-series is made with the intention of honoring the voices that have gone unheard during the tragic incident. This web-series will be bringing out the historical, ethical, and geopolitical complexities that resulted in the heart-wrenching incident of Kashmir genocide in 1990s.
