Vivek’s cousin Akshay Oberoi turns down ‘FK’, is Aishwarya the reason?

We all are excited to see Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan share screen space in ‘Fanney Khan’. However, the two are not paired opposite each other, and Aishwarya will be seen romancing a younger actor in the film.

Reportedly, Akshay Oberoi, who is getting a great response for his performance in ‘Gurgaon’, was approached to star in the film opposite Aishwarya. But, it is said that he rejected the offer.

A source told a leading daily, “Akshay Oberoi was approached for the film. Talks were initiated with the actor but it didn’t work out eventually. Now, they are still hunting for a young actor.”

Well, not many people know this that Akshay Oberoi is a cousin of Vivek Oberoi, and we all know that the latter and Aishwarya have a past. So, we wonder if Akshay rejected ‘Fanney Khan’ because of that. While many young actors would be keen on working Aishwarya, Akshay’s decision of not doing the film surely comes as a surprise. Earlier there were reports that Vicky Kaushal or Rajkummar Rao would be romancing Aishwarya in the film. A source had earlier stated, “Either Rao or Kaushal should bag the role. But you never know, as neither of them has yet signed on the dotted line.”

Talking about ‘Fanney Khan’ Anil Kapoor had stated, “‘Fanney Khan’ is an exciting journey for me. I have always admired Aishwarya’s craft and it’ll be interesting to work with her again, after so long. This is also my first project with KriArj Entertainment. I am happy to join hands with such creative minds, who know the pulse of the audience. They’re talking about all the right things in the best of ways and the kind of cinema they make is exemplary of the fact that one doesn’t have to make a big movie to make a movie big.”

“T-Series is partnering with us, which means that our film will feature some fantastic music. What makes this partnership even more significant is the fact that music plays an important role in the story, which revolves around the life of an aspiring musician,” he added.
