She has quit acting more than four decades ago. But when she used to be an actress, she was nothing short of a heartthrob. The gorgeous lady bid adieu to acting to pursue full-fleged Bharat Natyam. Age is just a number and she has proved it once more. At the age of 79, she is all set to make her debut in singing.
“It’s never too late or too early to do what you wish to do in life. I’ve always followed my heart. I was an actress for 20 years. It was dancing that consumed my interest after acting and I devoted myself completely to it. And now I am taking to singing seriously. I hope I am successful.”- she said.
The Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University has organised two concenrts where she will be performing. The former actress was supposed to perform in December beginning. However, the flood struck the city and she was stranded there.
“I was in Mysore when the rains broke out in Chennai. I couldn’t return for many days , and my singing debut was postponed. Now it’s finally happening. Please wish me luck.’- she added.
