Waheeda Rehman will be seen as a guest in the upcoming episode of Arbaaz Khan’s chat show, The Invincibles. The teaser of the upcoming episode is out and it will leave you excited. In the teaser of the upcoming episode featuring Waheeda Rehman, she opened up about her childhood, initial career days, Guru Dutt and more.

The teaser opens with Waheeda Rehman recalling how Guru Dutt was once told he was making a big mistake by casting her in Pyaasa. The veteran actress shared that someone told Guru Dutt that she was ‘bekaar’ and almost like a ‘wooden doll’. Pyaasa was released in 1957 and also starred Mala Sinha and Johnny Walker.
During the conversation, Waheeda ji also recalled the time when she was asked to change her name for films. The veteran actress said in the promo, “Excuse me, it is my own name. Mere parents ne diya hai (My parents have given me the name), why should I change my name? Din raat mehnat karne ke liye taiyar hoon main, lekin chand batein jahan (I am ready to work hard, but a few things about which) I don’t feel comfortable, I will not do it because I won’t be able to.”
The veteran actress also recalled the time her father would keep telling her mother to take care of her. She said in the promo, “Mere daddy kehte the mummy ko bhai isko sambhalo ye paagal ho jaegi. Mere dil karta hai ki mein jab hasu toh duniya hase aur jab mein rou oh duniya roye (laughs) (My daddy used to tell my mummy, take care of her, she will go mad. Then one day he called me, why do you do this? My heart feels when I laugh, I want the world to laugh, and when I cry, I want the world to cry)”
Waheeda Rehman is one of the most loved stars in the Indian film industry. She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Rojulu Marayi and then there was no looking back for her. She has worked in films such as Pyaasa, Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, and Rang De Basanti among others.
