Music director Wajid Khan had passed away on June 1 in a Mumbai hospital. He was battling kidney infection complications and was 42 at the time of death. Wajid’s brother Sajid Khan told PTI, “He died of cardiac arrest.” He also confirmed that his brother had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The funeral is going to be held today. Sajid arrived for the last rites of his deceased brother. He was seen following the safety protocols as he was wearing a mask and gloves. As per a report in SpotboyE, his cremation will take place at the Versova burial ground.

In conversation with PTI, music composer Salim Merchant told about the deteriorating condition of Wajid saying, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
Wajid started his career with his brother Sajid in 1998 with Salman Khan’s movie ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’. Sajid-Wajid then went on composing for movies like ‘Chori Chori’, ‘Hello Brother’, ‘Wanted’, the ‘Dabangg’ franchise and ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ among others.
