Wajid Khan funeral: Mortal remains of the music composer arrive at the crematorium

The year 2020 has brought a flood of shocking and depressing news. After Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan’s death, earlier today celebrated music composer Wajid Khan left for the heavenly abode. The 42-year-old singer-composer’s brother Sajid Khan confirmed that he died due to cardiac arrest.

Wajid’s last rites were performed at Versova’s crematorium and owing to the Coronavirus induced lockdown very few people were allowed to gather at the cemetery.

Only Wajid’s family and extremely close friends were seen arriving at the cemetery to pay their last respects. Wajid’s wife and kids, brother Sajid Khan, Aditya Pancholi, Aalim Hakim and a very few close friends came in to attend his last rites.

An Ambulance carrying the mortal remains of the music composer was seen arriving at the crematorium. Video of the Wajid’s last journey has surfaced on the internet and it has left everyone teary-eyed.

Wajid breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital in the wee hours of Monday (June 1). He was already suffering from heart and kidney ailments and recently he was infected by the deadly Coronavirus. Revealing the cause of Wajid’s death, his brother Sajid Khan told PTI, “He died of a cardiac arrest.” 

The ‘Dabangg’ music composer had recently undergone an organ transplant and had been on a ventilator for the last few days. In their career. Sajid-Wajid have worked extensively for Salman Khan. The superstar expressing his grief over Wajid’s untimely death said, “Wajid will always love, respect, remember n miss u as a person n ur talent, Love u n may your beautiful soul rest in peace …(sic)”

Wajid Khan is survived by his wife and two kids.
