Music composer Wajid Khan’s mother Razina Khan tests positive for Covid-19

In Bollywood, the year 2020 has been a series of bad news so far. First, we lost Irrfan Khan, followed by veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and yesterday the industry was hit with another heartbreaking news as one of the most celebrated music composer Wajid Khan passed away. Now, the latest report states that Wajid’s mother Razina has been tested Covid-19 positive.

According to a report by ABP News, a source was quoted saying as, “Wajid’s mother Razina had already contracted Coronavirus before the late musician was infected with the virus. Wajid, who was suffering from kidney and throat infection, tested positive for Covid-19 later.”

The source further added, “Sajid-Wajid’s mother is better now and her condition has improved. She stayed in Surana Sethia hospital to take care of her ailing son. However, she contracted Covid-19 after she came in contact with other coronavirus patients at the hospital.”

Confirming the news, Sonu Nigam said in his live session on Youtube. He said that Wajid was quite alone in his last days, as his mom too had tested positive for Covid-19 as could not meet due to the isolation process.

Wajid breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital yesterday. He was already had underlying heart and kidney issues. He was also said to be infected with the Coronavirus. Revealing the cause of Wajid’s death, his brother Sajid Khan had told PTI, “He died of a cardiac arrest.”  Wajid had also recently undergone an organ transplant and had been on a ventilator for the last few days.
