Jhumkas, thumkas & laughs: Here’s what went behind the making of Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh’s What Jhumka peppy song

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is one of the most talked-about films right now. RARKPK marks Alia and Ranveer’s reunion onscreen after Gully Boy. Apart from that, it also marks Karan Johar’s return as a director after 7 years. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s second song What Jhumka was released a few days ago. Now, KJo treated fans with a fun BTS video of What Jhumka song.

Alia and Ranveer had too much fun during What Jhumka song shoot and the video is proof. The video opens with Ranveer in the studio recording for the song. For the uninitiated, Ranveer has rapped up a verse for the song which is only available in the song’s audio. We then see them shooting for the song. The duo’s dance moves are on point.  The BTS video is all about ‘Jhumkas, thumkas, and laughs.’

Alia says, “In a Karan Johar movie, music is like another character and possibly one of the most important characters.” She even called What Jhumka her favourite song. Adding to that, Ranveer Singh says, “There was unanimous agreement. We have 200-400 dancers on set and everybody was just telling one another how this song is going to bang.”

Earlier, the makers released RARKPK’s first song Tum Kya Mile and it received a good response. Fans are beyond excited for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Apart from Alia Bhatt and Ranveer, the upcoming film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, Anjali Anand, Namita Das, Kshitee Jog, and Shabana Azmi. It is slated to release on 28^th July, 2023.
