‘Sultan‘ is the most anticipated film of this year, with Salman Khan playing the title role. Touted to be one of the most important projects for the banner of Yash Raj Films, the film wrapped up the first schedule of the shoot without finalising its lead actress. After rumors of actresses like Parineeti Chopra, Kriti Sanon and Deepika Padukone being considered for the part, the makers have announced the casting of Anushka Sharma opposite Salman Khan in this project.
On Saturday evening, Anushka attended an event where she was asked about sharing screen space with Salman Khan for the first time. She replied, “I am thrilled and excited to work with Salman Khan, I think there is no one like him because of his persona. The film is something I am really excited about and I am more excited about my role and all in all, it is something I am waiting to dig my teeth into.”
After actresses like Madhuri Dixit – Nene, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan, she is lucky and the latest one to enter in the list of Heroines working with all three Khans of Bollywood. Anushka had made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and gave her career’s highest grossing film as of now by pairing with Aamir Khan in ‘PK.’
“It’s really great and this is something that I’ll be very proud of till the end of my life. It is something that I can look back and be happy about that I got to work with these three amazing actors and people – Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh. The kind of experience that they have for anybody to work with them, it’s like a life experience that you get. I feel very humbled,” added the actress.
‘Sultan’ is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is currently shooting its second schedule in Mumbai. The film is slated to release on the occasion of Eid clashing with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees.’
