What! Sridevi was not in favour of daughter Jhanvi Kapoor entering Bollywood

All of us are excited to see Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor making her Bollywood debut in Karan Johar’s film ‘Student Of The Year 2’. Karan paved way for Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in Bollywood, with the first instalment of this film and now it’s time for Jhanvi to make a splash in this industry. But, did you know that her mother Sridevi was not quite in favour of Jhanvi entering Bollywood?

In her recent interview to Mid-Day, Sridevi revealed about her feelings and said, “She wanted to do the film (SOTY 2) and initially, I wasn’t in favour. I don’t think it’s a bad industry. I am a creation of this world. But as a parent, it would give me greater joy to see her married. But her happiness matters more, and if she does well as an actress, I will be a proud mother.”

Further, she also revealed on how media misunderstood her when she made public appearances with her daughters. An opinion was formed that Sridevi is promoting her daughters by keeping them in the media glare. But contrary to this, Sridevi said, “Earlier I would take them (Jhanvi and Khushi) to social gatherings and premieres that I attended. But they (people) thought I was promoting Jhanvi. Walking with my girls made me feel like a proud mother. But to the world, it became a reason to misunderstand me.”

Sridevi’s next film ‘MOM’ is slated to release soon.
