“Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3” director Umesh Ghadge says his mentor David Dhawan initially wondered if he could direct an adult comedy.
“I wasn’t offered a clean comedy, but was offered an adult comedy and when I discussed this with Davidji, he wondered how would I manage it, considering how both of us were involved in making clean comedies,” Ghadge said.
“I told him that this genre is a different one and that I had watched some of the films of this genre. People enjoy them and the script is very good. I told him that I’ll be able to do it well. He gave me his blessings and it’s only because of his blessings that I could direct this film,” added the director, who assisted Dhawan for 10 years on films like “Partner” and “Main Tera Hero”.
Asked about his mentor, he said: “All films of Davidji have been clean and family comedies till now. I don’t think anyone has entertained as much as him. He has made close to 40 super hit films and if you turn on the TV, at least one of his films is always playing. It was always very enjoyable and entertaining.”
