Shah Rukh Khan’s former security head Yusuf Ibrahim opens up on actor avoiding paparazzi; says, “Kuch personal reason…”

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been noticeably avoiding the media and paparazzi since 2021. Known for his charisma and warmth, the actor now hides under umbrellas and refrains from posing for cameras at events. Recently, his former security head, Yusuf Ibrahim, shed some light on this during a conversation with Zoom.

Yusuf clarified that Shah Rukh’s behaviour isn’t about being camera-shy but could be due to a personal reason. He stated, “Voh hoga kuch personal reason. Main toh nahi jaanta because I’m not working for him anymore. So, unka internally kya wajah hai, kyu kar rahe hain, that’s his call. I have no idea.” Yusuf, who has a long-standing professional association with SRK, began his company by managing the actor’s security. In fact, Shah Rukh’s current bodyguard, Ravi Singh, was initially assigned by Yusuf during his early days with the company.

Varinder Chawla claims SRK is upset with media

Adding to this, Mumbai-based paparazzi Varinder Chawla offered another perspective on Shah Rukh’s media avoidance. According to Chawla, the actor harbours anger toward the media due to its intrusive coverage of his son Aryan Khan during the 2021 “drugs-on-cruise” case. Aryan was arrested in October 2021 and kept in police custody for 22 days. Shah Rukh was mobbed during his visits to the jail and faced relentless media scrutiny. Aryan was later released and cleared of all charges.

Varinder explained, “After speaking to him, I realised his love for his children, his son Aryan Khan. I too have children, if people went around talking ill and negative things about my children, I too would feel sad. He was so sad and upset back then, we didn’t care about that. We just kept complaining that SRK doesn’t give us photos and always hides his face. He is mad at the media for what they did to his son.”

As for Yusuf, he continues to be a prominent figure in Bollywood security, managing Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s safety since their debut in Student of the Year. His client list also includes stars like Ranbir Kapoor, cementing his reputation as a trusted consultant in the industry.
