According to the report, Suriya is set to take on the lead role in the Tamil version of “Ghajini 2.” In an interview with Pinkvilla, he shared, “It’s interesting that you asked me about Ghajini 2 now. Not long ago, Allu Aravind approached me with the idea of a sequel and inquired if it was feasible. I responded, ‘Absolutely, sir, we can explore it.’ Yes, discussions have commenced, and progress is being made. Ghajini 2 might indeed happen.”
As per reports Aamir Khan has been in discussions with producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena about a sequel to the 2008 hit Ghajini. Suriya on Ghajini 2
Speaking about Ghajini 2, Suriya said, “Ghajini 2 was actually, surprising that you asked me now. After a long time, Allu Aravind came up with that idea (for a sequel) and asked if that would be possible. I said sir, we can think of it. Yes, the talk has started, the things are in process. Ghajini 2 might happen.”
The news outlet also cited a source who noted, “As Pan-India films gain traction, remakes of iconic movies featuring popular stars are becoming less common. Both Suriya and Aamir Khan are enthusiastic about Ghajini 2 but are keen to avoid the ‘remake’ label. They are also concerned that releasing one version before the other could diminish the novelty factor. And they have shared these concerns with the producers. In response, Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena suggested a solution: filming both versions of Ghajini 2 simultaneously and releasing them on the same day.”
“Creating a sequel to a revered classic like Ghajini carries significant responsibility, especially since the original was a transformative project for both actors. Their main concern is to ensure that the sequel feels authentic and is not merely a cash grab. They are both enthusiastic about the concept but are waiting to hear narrations as the project develops. The script is currently under development. And we expect to have a clearer update on progress by mid-2025,” the report added.
