There are only 52 Fridays in a year to accommodate as many Bollywood films it can, that are up for a release. Hence, a clash of the bigwigs at the box office is inevitable. To top it all many filmmakers and stars are keen on releasing their film on a festival or at least during the weekend of the festival to gain more at the box office.
2017 has already seen interesting clashes like ‘Raees’ vs ‘Kaabil’, ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ vs ‘Sarkar 3’, ‘Half Girlfriend’ vs ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Baadshaho’ vs ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’, ‘Secret Superstar’ vs ‘Golmaal Again’ and even before 2018 starts the clashes have been marked on the calendar already.
The most interesting clash that might happen in 2018 is that of Shahrukh Khan-Ranveer Singh-Sushant Singh Rajput. Recently, it was announced that Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan-starrer ‘Kedarnath’ will be releasing on December 21, 2018. That got us thinking about the reports doing rounds of Rohit Shetty’s next which stars Ranveer Singh that will also be hitting the screens during Christmas weekend. The movie is a remake of a Telugu flick ‘Temper’. When we dug further we realised that SRK also might come up with his next during 2018 Christmas. We all know that Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with the shoot of Aanand L Rai’s next, and the director had earlier stated that they are eyeing on a December release for the film. So, if they are planning a December 2018 release for their film, then Christmas weekend is surely something they would be opting for. This means that it might be a Shah Rukh vs Ranveer vs Sushant at the box office.
Last when Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh clashed at the box office it was 2015 and the films were ‘Dilwale’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. We all know how ‘Dilwale’ was panned at the box office and by SRK fans and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ emerged as a clear winner. We wonder if the clash between Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer and Sushant takes place who will win the box office race.
