Akshay Kumar‘s most awaited film ‘Airlift’ recently made it to the theatres and as expected, it is grossing well at the box-office. Positive word of mouth and critical appreciation has led ‘Airlift’ to the path of success. With this, Akshay and Nimrat Kaur along with the entire team of ‘Airlift’ have all the reasons to rejoice. Adding to this list of victorious moments, ‘Airlift’ has now been declared Tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.
In 1990, the Indian Government successfully carried out the largest human evacuation ever and saved the lives of numerous people stranded in the war-zone area of Kuwait. Saddam Hussein had invaded Kuwait and a war broke out between Iraq and Kuwait. ‘Airlift’ is a story based on this incident. How an Indian, Ranjit Katyal with the help of the Indian Government saved the lives of Indians there. Well, this is one such story which will make every Indian Proud and therefore, the Uttar Pradesh Government has now declared this film as a Tax-Free one. Akshay himself made this announcement on his Twitter page. He said,

A good news, indeed! We are just waiting for the news which says that ‘Airlift’ has been made tax-free in other states as well.
Talking about the box-office collection, ‘Airlift’ has already crossed the 50 crore mark over the weekend. The theatres are running houseful and soon the movie is expected to cross the 100 crore mark.
