Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar welcome a baby boy, filmmaker announces son’s name

Happy bells are ringing in the Dhar and Gautam households today. As per reports pouring in actress Yami Gautam and filmmaker Aditya Dhar have welcomed a baby boy. The couple welcomed their first child on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritya, Friday, May 10. Yami confirmed her pregnancy news at the trailer launch event of her last release, Article 370.

A few minutes ago, the new parents took to Instagram to share the news. Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar posted a picture reading, “We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our beloved son, Vedavid, who graced us with his birth on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritya. Please shower him with all your kind blessings and love. Warm regards, Yami & Aditya”

They shared a thanks-filled caption reading, “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptionally dedicated and wonderful medical professionals at Surya Hospital, especially Dr Bhupender Awasthi and Dr Ranjana Dhanu, whose expertise and tireless efforts made this joyous occasion possible.” It further read, “As we embark on this beautiful journey of parenthood, we eagerly anticipate the bright future that awaits our son. With every milestone he achieves, we are filled with the hope and belief that he will grow to become a beacon of pride for our entire family as well as our beloved nation.”

Yami wants to be a working mom

During a recent interaction with Times of India, Yami Gautam opened up about her plans to be a working mom. The ‘Vicky Donor’ actress said, “I will be a working mother. My mother and mother-in-law have been working women and have balanced it well. They have set an example for me. Also, I am glad I have a very supportive husband.”

Yami on preparing the house for the baby

While talking about the prep she and Aditya Dhar have done to welcome their first child, Yami told Hindustan Times, “We are traditional, we don’t really have a concept of making a nursery. Of course, there are adjustments, you have to prepare. Baby proofing will happen later when the baby starts running around. My sister, who is a mother, says this is the best phase. I am sure there will be challenges as well, but we will get to know once we are in it. We are just very excited.”
