From Vicky Donar to Uri: The Surgical Strike to A Thursday and Dasvi, actress Yami Gautam has come a long way in her career. Today, she is one of the most successful actors of the industry. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Yami opened up on criticism, validation and a lot more. When asked if it bothers her if anyone fails to recognise her work, she said, “Not at all.”
She added, “I think I have come way past that. I don’t wish to see validation of my work, my existence in this industry based on some list. With due respect, everybody is entitled to their opinion. There are thousands of things and you don’t to be everywhere. You need to be here, in the moment and need to your job which I am doing something right that you will be seeing me in certain kind of films. Thankfully, certain directors and producers don’t depend on certain lists and give you work what they see on that particular Thursday or Friday.”
“Things which I don’t believe or connect with, I don’t want to break my mind or brain over it. There is so much you can do as an actor and you need to find your peace. You need to peaceful and happy doing what you are doing. If I am cribbing why my name is not there, then why am I working hard so much work , on getting those scripts and roles, working hard on sets. Is it that worth? So, let these people do what they are doing what’s best for them and I will do what’s best for me,” Yami said further.
Yami also said, “And I think it’s about time now. People are very smart. It might matter to a handful in the industry. But they don’t speak for the audience or larger section. People who actually give your work, watch your films, it doesn’t matter to them. So, it doesn’t matter to me.”
