Yami Gautam recently starred in the movie Dasvi which stars Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. Dasvi is streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinemas. The fans and critics have begun to roll their Dasvi reviews out and looks like Yami Gautam is upset with one of them. The actress took to her social media account and shared a series of tweets expressing her disappointment.
Yami shared a screenshot of one of the lines from the review which said, “Yami Gautam is no longer the dead girlfriend in Hindi films, but the combative smile is starting to get repetitive.” The actress then went on to write, “Before I say anything else, I’d like to say that I usually take constructive criticism in my stride. But when a certain platform keeps trying to pull you down consistently, I felt it necessary to speak up about it.”
She further wrote, “My recent films & performances include ‘A Thursday’, ‘Bala’, ‘Uri’ etc & yet this is qualified as a ‘review’ of my work! It’s extremely disrespectful! It takes years of hard work for anyone & especially a self-made actor like me to keep proving our mettle again & again with every opportunity. This is what it comes down to from certain reputed portals!”Â

It’s heartbreaking since I did look up to @FilmCompanion once upon a time, like many of us, but I don’t seek that since long now! I would request you not to ‘review’ my performance henceforth ! I’ll find grace in that & it’ll be less painful.

Meanwhile, Bollywood Bubble gave Dasvi 3 stars, an excerpt from the review read, “Yami Gautam as Jyoti is powerful and emotional. I wished we would know the backstory of these characters. She is a no-nonsense person with a soft heart and it was refreshing to see Yami in uniform. Nimrat is perhaps the star. She easily slips from being a housewife to the CM and the personality change within is so apparent. She is perhaps one of the most hilarious characters of Dasvi. Dasvi is overall an entertaining one-time watch that will leave you chuckling. It promises a good time, but don’t enter with sky-high expectations.”
