Yami Gautam raises awareness about organ donation and her words are inspiring

Recently, on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, actress Yami Gautam raised awareness about the cause. Well, not many are aware of the fact that the actress has pledged to donate her eyes, in real life. The actress who played the role of a visually impaired girl in the successful movie ‘Kaabil’ this year had pledged to donate her eyes even before the movie happened. In fact, not just Yami, her entire family pledged to donate their eyes back then and Yami is extremely proud about it.

The actress is of the opinion that usually people tend to underestimate the things that they are blessed with until they lose it. So, she feels that by pledging to donate her eyes, she is doing her bit of contribution to the society at large and touching someone’s life. However, she also stated that for any sort of humanitarian cause, a celebrity should not be the driving force for people to take up the cause and it should come from the heart. But, celebs taking up such causes will indeed inspire their followers who will get the confidence and sense of belief to share the same ideal. Talking about her experience of playing a visually challenged girl in ‘Kaabil’, she said, “‘Kaabil’ has been a life changing experience for me which is beyond just professional parameters… Playing a visually impaired girl gave me an insight as to how granted at times we take something as simple but important as our sight… but what stayed with me most importantly is the spirit that they have… we got to meet so many achievers who are only impaired in vision but much more will powered & Able than so many of us…”

Well, we are sure Yami’s words will inspire many to donate their organs.
