Yami Gautam recalls teenager recording a ‘bad’ video of her amid Alia Bhatt’s invasion of privacy row

A few days back, Alia Bhatt grabbed attention after she slammed a media portal for ‘invading her privacy’. The publication had shared pictures of Alia Bhatt enjoying some me-time in her living room. Arjun Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Shaheen Bhatt among others had extended their support to Alia. Now, Yami Gautam has shared her own terrifying experience amid Alia’s private pics leak controversy.

Yami recalls horrifying incident

Yami, who was recently seen in The Lost, recalled an incident when a young boy requested to click a picture with her, but started recording a video. She added that the video was later shared on social media.

The actress told Puja Talwar, “Aaj kal koi aise le k video bana raha hoga (These days anyone can record a video anytime, without consent) Some boy came on my farm, a very young boy, a teenager who must be 19-20, and requested my staff ‘can we take a picture’. I am very open, you know, welcoming people. It’s a small town and people wanna come and visit and talk. And, I am very happy to do that. I thought he is taking a picture but he was taking a video. A video of…. it was so bad, and that person apparently got millions of views, he’s celebrating his vlog…”

The actress added, “It may seem I’m so happy mujhe comment mil gayi (I am getting a lot of comments) but that means that has encouraged that people to do it again with somebody.” When Puja quipped, “And encourage others to do it.” Yami added, “Which they did. They all came back at home with cameras and they are taking a tour of my home. I am like ‘what’s happening? Where are we going? You making this so normal for next generation. Absolutely there has to be a line drawn and everything is not okay. This is not okay.”

Alia Bhatt’s private pics controversy

Alia had penned a note slamming the media portal on her Instagram Stories. The actress’ note read, “Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my LIVING ROOM when I felt something watching me… I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighboring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed? This is a gross invasion of someone’s privacy! There’s a line you just cannot cross and it’s safe to say all lines were crossed today!” The actress had also tagged Mumbai Police in her post.

On the work front, Yami was last seen in The Lost. The actress delivered a terrific performance in The Lost. The Lost was released on Zee5. Yami will be next seen with Sunny Kaushal in Netflix’s Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. Yami and Sunny starrer is slated to release on March 24. The actress recently treated fans with the new poster of Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga.
