The social stigma revolving around transgenders in India is about to change and all thanks to Yash Raj Films. YRFÂ recently launched India’s first transgender band consisting of 6 people from that community. The band is called ‘6 pack’ and is supported by none other than the ace singer Sonu Nigam.
The first single of this band titled ‘Hum Hai Happy’ just made it to the internet and we must say that it is fabulous. The video which starts with Anushka Sharma’s voiceover, narrating the difficulties faced by the transgenders, later turns into a happy song with all of the 6 band members dancing and enjoying themselves. The song is the cover version of Pharell Williams song titled ‘Happy.’ By the end of the video Sonu Nigam joins in and promises to come up with the next song soon.
Anushka, who has managed to evoke emotions with her heart-touching monologue at the beginning of the video, shared this exceptional single on her Twitter page. She posted,
Where words fail, music speaks 🙂 Proud of #HumHainHappy by @y_films @The6PackBand, India’s first transgender band: https://t.co/XrtSHKPYQX

Well done YRF!
