Over-plucked brows… Ouch!

We cringe at the thought of Bollywood divas like Kangana Ranaut (remember her Gangster days?) and Priyanka Chopra in reed-thin, arched brows. Ah, that almost non-existent line - plucked and threaded into oblivion was the trend back in the day. Goodness gracious, times have changed and actresses can now skip a few salon appointments, without having to worry. Today, wild and slightly grown in, thick eyebrows are totally the in-thing! We're glad that Bollywood beauties have accepted that thin is no longer in (for their body and eyebrows, both).

Suits in Neon Colours – Raju Bangaya Gentleman!

While we were still trying to recover from the chest hair mantra of Bollywood heroes, here was another trend: orange and green suits! Really? A pop of colours is a good idea, but when the hero starts looking like the scary version of Tellytubbies, it's probably time to say WTF! Don't we all have childhood memories of a drunk dulhe ka friend dancing to 'UP wala thumka lagao' in an oversized yellow suit? Not proud.

Blonde Highlights… Why So fake?

No! Just a big no to this one. From Kareena Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Amisha Patel to even Deepika Padukone! Bollywood divas were obsessed with blonde hair. Oh well, this was the girl version of the dramatized Tere Naam hairstyle. This golden time (pun intended) was when everyone was trying to be not-so-Indian!

Let’s Play Match Matchy…Insane Colour-Coordination!

These were the times of wearing a blue dupatta, blue salwar, blue kameez, blue bindi, blue bangles, blue earrings. Aha! Imagine the non-existent creativity of the stylists back then. The worst part? Most actresses did not even realise it was a fashion blunder for the longest time. Aren't we're all guilty of following this fashion diktat of wearing the same shade from head to toe? It's only now that we know what contrast colours really mean. Damn you, Bollywood!

Mesh T-Shirts

This fashion trend should have been murdered right in its infancy, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. In fact, Hrithik Roshan first grabbed headlines with his black bicep-flaunting, see-through tee in 'Kaho Na... Pyar Hai'. We could still tolerate that. But then we saw this image of Akshay Kumar flaunting the same with a dungaree, and fashion for us died a slow and painful death. The dreadful display of gorilla assets (no offence to the hairy gentlemen, please) in that sheer tops gave us sleepless nights, and no, not in a good way. This ghastly trend actually made all Rameshs and Sureshs go au naturelle in mesh tees with body hair peeking out. Eww!
