Zaira Wasim case: Wife of the accused HITS back at the ‘Dangal’ star

Recently, Zaira Wasim was in the news after the young National Award winning actress made a shocking revelation that she was molested on her Air Vistara Delhi to Mumbai flight. A man sitting behind her in the flight was brushing his leg on her shoulders and started moving his foot up and down on her back and her neck.

Police was quick to react to the complaint and got the accused arrested. As reported in India Today, the accused has been identified as Vikas Sachdev, a 39-year-old man who stays in Mumbai suburbs. It is being said that he was returning from Delhi after attending a funeral and was really tired while on the flight as he hadn’t slept in a long time. According to Vikas, he had apologised to the actress after finding out that his leg had touched her shoulder, an act he said was unintentional. Vikas’ wife Divya, supported her husband’s claim.

“My husband was coming home from Delhi. His mamaji (maternal uncle) had passed away and he was not in the right frame of mind. He was feeling very low and asked for a blanket. He wanted to sleep. I am shocked at (the actor’s) allegation. The police have taken my husband into custody,” Divya said.
