Zakir Hussain is a name synonymous with virtuosity in the world of Indian classical music. His name is revered in both Indian and international music circles. His remarkable contributions to Bollywood that have made him an irreplaceable figure in the music industry. The tabla maestro passed away at 73 in San Francisco due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. His passing has led to an outpouring of tributes from fans, musicians, and celebrities with messages of condolences.

Celebs pay tribute to Zakir Hussain

Kareena Kapoor shared a nostalgic photo on her Instagram Stories, showing herself, Zakir Hussain, and her father, actor Randhir Kapoor. She expressed her tribute with the caption, “Maestro forever” followed by red heart emojis.

Similarly, Ranveer Singh honored the legendary musician by posting a black-and-white image of Zakir playing the tabla on Instagram.

Actor Bhumi Pednekar also shared a similar picture of the legend with the caption, “Maestro. His rhythm will echo in our hearts forever.”

Kamal Haasan posted a nostalgic picture of himself with the musician, both seated alongside a tabla, with the caption, “Zakir Bhai! He left too soon. Yet we are grateful for the times he gave us and what he left behind in the form of his art. Goodbye and Thank you.”

Riteish Deshmukh also shared his tribute to X (Formerly Twitter) saying, “The irreparable loss of Zakir Hussain Sahab is a devastating blow to India and the global music community”, a part of his note read.

Amitabh Bachchan dedicated a blog post to Zakir Hussain and wrote, “A genius…an unmatched maestro…an immeasurable loss…Zakir Hussain…has left us.”

Akshay Kumar shared a post on X and mourned the table maestro’s death.
