‘Zero’: Aanand L Rai opens up on SRK’s character Bauua Singh

Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Zero’ that is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The Aanand L. Rai directorial also features Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles. Recently the director opened up on the Badshah depicting dual roles in the upcoming film and one of them of a dwarf named Bauua Singh.

In an interview with Indian Express, Aanand L Rai has revealed why SRK was a perfect choice to play Bauua’s role. The director said, “The story needed Shah Rukh Khan and that’s why he is there. It’s not that ‘now let me work with Shah Rukh Khan’, that was not the decision. I needed somebody as strong as him to come onboard because you need to be a very self-assured actor to play this role. To let go those two feet is not easy. But then you have to be very sure about yourself and Shah Rukh Khan is very sure about himself.”

The first look of Shah Rukh Khan and Bauua Singh was revealed earlier this year and was loved by fans. Later, on Katrina Kaif’s birthday, Shah Rukh Khan had shared her intense first look where she is seen in a devastated state with cameras clicking her pictures raising the curiosity level of viewers to a new high.

Anushka Sharma is reportedly essaying a scientist’s role in the film. Her look from the film is still under wraps. The makers had even treated fans with a teaser of SRK as Bauua Singh dancing with Salman during Eid this year.

‘Zero’ will also have special appearances by Kajol, Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji, Karisma Kapoor, R Madhavan and late actress Sridevi. It is slated to release on December 21, 2018.
