Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ finds its lead actors in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt

Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming flick ‘Gully Boy’ has been in the news for frequent changes in its star cast. There had been quite a few rumours of Ranveer Singh being roped in and then moving out of the project and later Varun Dhawan was said to be the lead actor, but he too denied the reports.

Now, reports in a leading daily have stated that it’s Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt who have been confirmed as main leads in ‘Gully Boy’. Ranveer will be essaying the role of a rapper in the movie and the story revolves around the lives of street rappers.

According to news in the daily, the movie will begin with its shooting from November. It has been confirmed now that Ranveer and Alia are the lead actors in the movie. ‘Gully Boy’ is directed by Zoya Akhtar and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and Zoya’s recently launched banner Tiger Baby.

Apart from this movie, Ranveer Singh will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Padmavati’ which also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, which will hit the theatres on November 17, 2017. Alia Bhatt will next be seen Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ opposite Varun Dhawan which will be releasing on March 10, 2017. She will also be seen in a movie called as ‘Dragon’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
