Last Friday, two movies, Rashtra Kavach OM starring Aditya Roy Kapur and R Madhavan directorial Rocketry- The Nambi Effect clashed at the box office. The movies released in theatres on July 1 and witnessed a low start at the box office. While the R Madhavan movie managed to witness an upward trend in the collections, the Aditya Roy Kapur starrer saw a major drop.
Rashtra Kavach OM and Rocketry have scored a low first week at the box office, in terms of the collections. A Box Office India report stated that the Aditya Roy Kapur starrer has made a collection of over 4 crore nett, which is low for the third day. The report mentioned that the business was however good at the single screens which witnessed a jump in collections. The film OM saw a drop in the second day collections and then saw a jump in the Sunday, Day 3 collections, only to rake 1.50 crore nett.

Friday – 1,35,00,000 apprx
Saturday – 1,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday – 1,50,00,000 apprx
Total – 4,10,00,000 apprx
However, talking about Rocketry- The Nambi Effect, the R Madhavan starrer got a slow opening at the box office. The movie made a collection of almost 65,000 nett only. But, due to positive reviews from the critics and audience, the movie has witnessed an upward trend in the Day 2 and three collections. While the movie based on a former ISRO scientist made a collection of 1.30 cr nett on the second day, the third day collections saw an excellent jump. The film managed to collect 1.90 cr nett, taking the total of the R Madhavan starrer to a little under 4 cr nett.

Meanwhile, Bollywood Bubble gave the movie OM a rating of two stars in its review, while the R Madhavan starrer got a rating of three stars in the review.
