Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Chhapaak’ hit the screens on January 10, 2020. Deepika played the role of an acid attack survivor Malti. Though the movie opened with low numbers on Day 1, over the weekend, it saw growth. On Day 1, the movie pocketed Rs 4.77, on Saturday i.e Day 2, it minted Rs 6.90 crore and on Sunday it collected Rs 7.35 crore. So, the total collection stands at Rs 19.02 crore.
Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the box-office collection. He tweeted, “#Chhapaak sees day-wise growth, but the weekend trending is good, not great… Collects well at premium multiplexes of urban sectors mainly… Needs to trend well on weekdays for a healthy Week 1 total… Fri 4.77 cr, Sat 6.90 cr, Sun 7.35 cr. The movie also had Vikrant Massey who played Deepika’s love interest. The movie is based on the real-life story of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. It shows Malti’s (Deepika Padukone) struggles as an acid attack victim and how she gets justice at the end. It has been directed by Meghna Gulzar.
