Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna have come together fo social drama Goodbye. The Vikas Bahl directorial has hit the theatres on October 7. Goodbye received rave reviews from the critics. But as per the trade estimations, the movie opens on a low note on Day 1 of its release.
The family drama has taken a slow start at the box office in India. On day one of its release Goodbye has collected a poor 90 lakhs nett.
The Vikas Bahl directorial marks the Bollywood debut of Rashmika Mandannna and had discounted ticket rates. Despite the discounted rate its collection are less than Dhokha – Round D Corner. Hopes are high that things might take a turn for the better over the weekend with some positive word of mouth.

Goodbye is locking horns with Hrithik Rosha and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha. But the latter caters to a different audience than Goodbye. Big B starrer has an open week to regain lost ground in the coming days until Ayushmann’s Doctor G arrives. All eyes are now on the weekend jump.
Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye revolves around a dysfunctional family who gather under one roof upon the passing away of a key family member. How the members find a bond that they seem to have forgotten.

Directed and written by Vikas Bahl of Queen fame it is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, Good Co. and Saraswati Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The movie also features Neena Gupta, Sunil Grover, Pavail Gulati, and Elli AvrRam among others.
