‘Kalank’ has received immense praise from some quarters, while the film has been totally panned by many others. This mixed dichotomy seems to have even confused the audiences a lot as the film hasn’t done exceptional business at the ticket windows. Neither has it drowned down in pangs of misery. The film starring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Kiara Advani, Kunal Kemmu, Kriti Sanon and many others, released on April 17. The film has gone ahead to cross the Rs 60 cr mark at the box-office in the extended 5-day weekend.
Trade Expert Taran Adarsh took to social media to announce the figures. He tweeted, “#Kalank is rejected… Has a lacklustre *extended* opening weekend… Will find it difficult to sustain on weekdays… Arrival of #AvengersEndgame [on Fri] will hit biz hard… Wed 21.60 cr, Thu 11.45 cr, Fri 11.60 cr, Sat 9.75 cr, Sun 11.63 cr. Total: ₹ 66.03 cr. India biz. (sic).”

Talking of the film, it’s being called a visual spectacle owing to the beautiful sets which have been built up. Director Abhishek Varman’s vision has come to life in the real sense. The fantastic cinematography by Binod Pradhan is visible in every frame of the movie. However, with so much opulence, the film’s story line seems week, drab and harping on the age-old issues of falling in love after marriage.
With ‘Avengers: Endgame’ releasing this Friday, ‘Kalank’ will find it difficult to sustain beyond Thursday. Stay hooked on to Bollywood Bubble for more such interesting gossip and news.
