PadMan: Akshay Kumar-starrer fails to beat first weekend collection of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’

Akshay Kumar’s latest outing ‘PadMan’ also starring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte is being loved by audience across the country, especially for the awareness it intends to spread.

The film opened to a decent collection of Rs 10 crore approximately, on its first day. On the weekend, however, it showed solid growth. (Also Read: ‘PadMan’ shows good growth on second day at the box office)

On Saturday, there was a 35% growth in collection which helped the film collect Around Rs 13.5 crore. On Sunday, with a growth of 20%, it minted Rs 16 crore approx. With this, ‘PadMan’ stands with a first weekend collection of Rs 29.50 crore approx. Akshay took to Instagram to thank wife Twinkle Khanna for backing the film.

However, ‘PadMan’ failed to beat the first weekend business of Akshay’s previous release ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’. With a whopping amount of over Rs 49 crore, TEPK had taken the box office by storm.

‘PadMan’ is being expected to buck up its collection since a higher footfall is predicted on upcoming Valentine’s Day.
