Samrat Prithviraj Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer witnesses growth in Day 3 collections

The movie Samrat Prithviraj, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi has witnessed a growth in the third-day collections at the box office. The Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar movie was released in theatres on June 3. It saw a slow start at the box office in the first day collections, but eventually picked pace. The Akshay Kumar starrer had opened with a collection of over 10 crore at the box office.

A Box Office India report said that Samrat Prithviraj has scored a fair first weekend, in terms of collections. The report mentioned that the movie has managed to collect in the 15.75-16 crore nett range. With the third day, first weekend collections, the Akshay Kumar is inching closer to the 50 crore mark. The movie has collected a total of 39 crore nett plus.

According to the report, “The weekend box office of the film is around 39 crore nett plus with Sunday set to fall in the 15.75-16 crore nett range. The Sunday collections in Bihar will be the highest for any original Hindi content on any day and this is the case for single screens in many centres of UP also.” The report also stated, “Samrat Prithviraj had a fair first weekend as it did good business in parts of India but average to low business in other parts. The film was basically driven by UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and MP which all put up good numbers and were very good on Sunday which is the best day for these pockets.”

Here are the Samrat Prithviraj box office collections so far:

Day 1 – Friday – 10,75,00,000 apprx

Day 2 – Saturday – 12,50,00,000 apprx

Day 3 – Sunday – 16,00,00,000 apprx

TOTAL – 39,25,00,000 apprx

As per the report further, “The weekend is looking to be in the 39-40 crore nett range which is a fair first weekend and mainly let down by the initial the film took. There is very good growth on Sunday in the Hindi belts with collections going up 40-50% at places.”

While Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj witnesses a growth in the collections, the two films from the South that released this week, Major and Vikram respectively, have also made a decent collection. As per the report, Major has made a collection of a little under 5 crore for three days and Vikram around 2 crore nett.

Meanwhile, Samrat Prithviraj was produced under the production banner, Yash Raj Films. The movie stars Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt, in key roles, as well.
