Exclusive: Anurag Basu’s ‘Life In A Metro’ sequel getting derailed?

Anurag Basu who has had a terrible release last year is in a bad space now. The ‘Jagga Jasoos’ director is finding it extremely difficult to put his next project in place. Why? Well, although he has already begun shooting with Abhishek Bachchan for ‘Life In A Metro’ sequel, the director is not getting his desired cast.

The film has been in news for all the bad reasons, since its inception. With stars coming in and out of the sequel, the director is left in a pickle. A source says, “Initially, he wanted Kareena Kapoor Khan who rejected the film. Then, it went to Kangana Ranaut who told her mentor that she would rather do his Imali over this. Then, Sonakshi Sinha was approached by T-Series who has picked ‘Mogul’ over the ensemble slice-of-life drama. It was then that Parineeti Chopra and Fatima Sana Shaikh were offered the film but they have also not shown interest.”

The film has gone on floors with Abhishek but the story doesn’t need a heroine. Taapsee Pannu and Aditya Roy Kapur are paired in one of the stories but even there, nothing is working out. “There’s no clarity on the film yet. At this point, shoot has begun but it’s getting derailed at every stage.”

We wonder where this project goes now and who will come on board as one of the female leads?
